LPD hosts 14th Annual Car Show while raising money for ‘Cops and Kids’

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – Gearheads and car enthusiasts got to check out some pretty cool rides this morning at the Lawton Police Department’s 14th Annual Car Show.

The event took place at the Comanche County Fairgrounds.

The show featured lots of older and newer cars and cars of differing types to check out, and of course, some cool police vehicles.

Officers say the event is a great way to give back to the community.

“The kids get an opportunity to come interact with law enforcement and our car clubs,” said Ronald Dimmitt with LPD. “The other part of that is all of the money that we raise from this event, we are able to buy bikes and toys and other things for children in September for our Cops and Kids picnic that we put on.”
