Kid Coach is a partnership between Children’s of Mississippi and the Mississippi State Bulldogs to salute pediatric patients. Their inspirational stories remind us just how truly courageous these young people are.
This week’s Children’s of Mississippi Kid Coach is Madilyn Albritton of Charleston.
When Madilyn was only two weeks old, she was diagnosed with bacillus bacterial meningitis, a very rare form of the infection. She stayed in the hospital for more than a month for treatment, getting care from pediatric neurologists, cardiologists and ophthalmologists. Her mom says everyone was kind, loving and helpful.
Madilyn still sees specialists at Children’s of Mississippi for follow up care, and she never lets anything get her down.
Now, just one week short of her thirteenth birthday, Madilyn is doing great! She has a special way of making people smile. And she loves anything to do with the outdoors or shopping!
Have fun at Saturday’s game, Madilyn. Your friends at Children’s of Mississippi are cheering for you!
