Millennial Brewing Company hosted the SWFL Mexican Food Showdown in downtown Fort Myers on Friday night.
The event featured food, drinks and live performances. Judges voted on the best tacos, nachos, and crowd favorites.
Some of the SWFL Mexican Food Showdown proceeds will benefit the Lee County chapter of the Pace Center for Girls.
The Pace Center for Girls is a nonprofit organization that helps middle and high school girls with school resources.
Leslie Vidal is a day counselor at the Lee County Pace Center for Girls chapter. She said helping the girls gives her fulfillment.
“It’s very rewarding,” Vidal said. “We get girls these girls and you hear their background, you hear their struggles and you hear the things they lack. To be able to provide that is great to see.”
Kyle Cebull owns Millennial Brewing Co. He said attendees will enjoy the event.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” Cebull said. “They can expect a lot of delicious food, awesome entertainment and delicious drinks.”
Chris Miner is a Cape Coral resident. He and his wife enjoyed the event, as well as others held at Millennial Brewing Co.
“This is a great event,” Miner said. “We’ve been to several events at Millennial, and every time we’ve come here it’s been a great event. It’s kid-friendly and pet-friendly. You can find something for everyone.”
