Cinco de Mayo Golf Fundraiser to benefit Arizona Adaptive Sports programs

Tucson, Ariz. (KVOA) – Adaptive Sports programs continue to grow in Tucson!

The U of A Adaptive Athletics Program and Southern Arizona Adaptive Sports (SAAS) help athletes with disabilities play and compete in a variety of sports. Everything from wheelchair basketball to tennis and golf. 

Jim Click is partnering with other area sponsors to host the Cinco de Mayo Golf Fundraiser Monday, May 5 at Tucson Country Club. 

It all benefits Arizona Adaptive Athletics and SAAS. The program means everything to U of A golfers Anthony Maldonado and Amanda Cunha. Maldonado lost his leg in a car accident in 2020, while Cunha is legally blind. 

They said fundraisers like the one on Cinco de Mayo help their live their dream. 

Registration begins Monday at 7:30 a.m. Golfers tee off at 9 a.m.
