LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – The Lawton Police Department is gearing up to host their 14th Annual Cops and Kids Car Show this weekend.
The event will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on May 3, at the Comanche County Fairgrounds.
There, they’ll have a wide variety of cars to view both new and old.
All the money raised for the event will go back to helping children in the area giving LPD the funds to buy bikes and toys for their Cops and Kids Picnic.
“It gives us the opportunity to showcase what we’re a part of,” LPD Public Information Lieutenant, Charles Whittington said. “We have officers that have cars, we have officers that are car enthusiasts, and then a lot of the car clubs get to come out and put their cars in the event, so it gets us that interaction between members of the community as well.”
The event is free to attend though anyone wanting to participate in the show will have to pay $20 per vehicle.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. on the day of the show.
