Hagrid hopes to find fur-ever home on Friday food truck night

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Hagrid’s handsome face makes the case for adding a pet to your family!

Hagrid visited Eye on NE Kansas with Grace Clinton ahead of a special Friday food truck night event at Helping Hands Humane Society.

Hagrid is an eight-weeks old male. He and his siblings have been in a foster home while they grew a little bigger before becoming available for adoption.

While HHHS often hosts food trucks one Saturday night a month, Grace said they planned a special First Friday event to avoid conflicting with weekend Cinco de Mayo events. A variety of food trucks will be set up in their parking lot until 8 p.m. Friday, May 2, along with live music from Delta Haze from 4 to 7 p.m. They’ll also be offering free microchips until 8 p.m. and extended adoption hours (until 7:30 p.m.).

A portion of all vendor proceeds helps the pets at HHHS!

A grant from Bissell Pet Foundation is allowing for reduced adoption fees. Most adult dogs at $70 (7 years and older: $50), while most adult cats are $40 (7 years and older: $15). Puppies like Hagrid are considered high-profile and have higher fees.

If you can’t make it Friday night, the shelter at SW 21st and Belle, has regular adoption hours all weekend long. Visit hhhstopeka.org for details.
