BBC Radio Newcastle’s Steve Howey believes reported target Bryan Mbeumo could form a “good partnership” with Alexander Isak.
Mbeumo has been rumoured to be moving away from Brentford in summer, with Newcastle one of the teams linked.
The Cameroon international has 18 goals and six assists from 34 Premier League appearances this season, and has scored in both matches against Newcastle.
Speaking on the potential move, Howey said: “I think he’s a very good player. He scores goals, his work rate is excellent. He creates goals as well.
“I think him and Yoane Wissa have a good partnership and a good understanding of each other, and I think he could have one with Alexander Isak too.
“He’s only 25. I think he’s a good player.”
