
FRANKENMUTH, MI — It’s almost May, and that means a summer food truck festival is returning soon to Michigan’s “Little Bavaria.”
This season’s first Frankenmuth Funtown Chowdown Food Truck Festival kicks off from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at the parking lot east of Frankenmuth River Place Shops, 925 S. Main St.
Funtown Chowdown offers a variety of cuisine and desserts, craft beer and non-alcoholic beverages, live music and activities for families.
Events are scheduled for the second Thursday of each month from May through September: May 8, June 12, July 10, August 14 and September 11.
This year, the May and September events will each feature about 16 trucks, with the June, July and August events featuring about 20 trucks from across Michigan.
Festival admission and parking are free, and there is a designated accessible parking area.
