UPPER PENINSULA, Mich. (WLUC) – Feeding America has food distribution events scheduled in Ironwood, Chassell, and Ontonagon Wednesday for families in need of food assistance.
The first mobile food pantry event is at Union Station, at 352 East Ayer Street in Ironwood. Food distribution starts at 10 a.m. Central time. There will be enough food to help feed approximately 250 to 300 families.
In Houghton County, the pantry is located at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 42905 Wilson Memorial Drive in Chassell. Food distribution there starts at 10 a.m. Eastern time. The third event is at the Ontonagon Village Fire Hall at 315 River Street beginning at 11 a.m. Eastern time.
Mobile food pantry attendees can pick up food for up to six families. They should be prepared to give the name, address, and household size for any family they’re picking food up for if asked.
All three pantries are drive-thru events. Attendees must stay in their vehicles.
