The 5th Annual Dan Bailey Memorial Car Show is scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd, and organizers anticipate a large turnout of both car aficionados and individuals wishing to honor the memory of Dan Bailey.
“We’re so excited for the annual car show,” Amy Bailey Warburton, Bailey’s daughter, said. “We can’t wait to cruise and see everyone and their cars.”
Warburton expressed a deep gratitude for Tom Galbreath and Dick O’Dell, who have continued to coordinate the show every year. Both men were friends of Bailey and held the same type of love for classic cars.

The car show is a way to keep Bailey’s influence alive within the valley. Since its inception in 2021, the show has drawn in thousands of fans and hundreds of vehicles of all kinds. They have even added a new category this year, “Under Construction.”
The event will run from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Old Logandale School Historical and Cultural Society located at 3011 N. Moapa Valley Blvd. There will be entertainment, food, a car swap meet, raffles and more. The lunch will be available with a drink for a donation of $5. There will be a cruise the night before on May 2 at 6:30 p.m., meeting at Lin’s Marketplace in downtown Overton, 350 N. Moapa Valley Blvd.
Entries are still being accepted, and the entry fee is $10 per vehicle for the fundraiser, which is set to benefit Brooke’s Good Deeds. There are seven categories for the competition: Under Construction, 1899-1939, 1940-1959, 1960-1970, 1971-1989, 1990-2023, Rat Rod and Best of Show.
Bailey was a local resident who passed away on December 2, 2020, after a long battle with various illnesses, including cancer. He was well-known for always being a caring person who gave all he could to help anyone who needed it. Born in Pomona, California, on April 6, 1945, Bailey grew up loving cars. He worked on multiple cars, restoring them and selling them off. All in all, according to his son Mark, he owned over 250 cars. However, his treasure was his purple 1956 Buick, “My Special Angel,” along with his rat rods. From theater to church to school events, Bailey was a prominent figure within Moapa Valley.
Galbreath said they are looking forward to the event and are grateful for all of the help and support they have gotten every year in ensuring the car show happens and a “great man” is remembered. He said they are still working out details on sponsors. If anyone would like to donate or sponsor, contact him by email at [email protected] or call (818) 429-9332. Dick O’Dell can be contacted at (702) 378-4239.
“Tom and Dick have been so gracious in keeping the memory of our dad alive in this way,” Warburton said. “We can’t wait.”
