Outgoing Wayne State University food service provider to lay off more than 100 employees

DETROIT, MI — Food service provider Aramark Campus, LLC will lay off more than 100 employees assigned to work at Wayne State University.

Aramark Campus, LCC was not retained to continue services past June 30, 2025.

The company announced the anticipated layoffs in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice on April 28.

Some of the displaced workers may be able to continue working at Wayne State University with the incoming provider, according to the notice.

Wayne State University partnered with SodexoMagic, a collaboration between Sodexo and Magic Johnson Enterprises, to oversee catering and food management on campus, according to its website.

The positions for 11 salaried employees and 126 hourly employees will be permanently terminated, according to the notice.

Each of the employees has been notified of their separation dates.
