Springdale-based Harps Foods has acquired family-owned community grocery store — Craven Foods —- for an undisclosed sum. The Fairfield Bay grocery store will close May 19, and reopen as Harp’s Food Store on May 21.
Owners Jimmy and Teresa Craven said while it’s bittersweet to step away from their business, they are confident that Harp’s shares the same values of community, service and quality and take great care of the local community.
Harp’s said customers can look forward to a seamless transition.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Craven Foods into the Harp’s family,” said CEO Kim Eskew. “Jimmy and his team have built something special here and we are honored to carry that legacy forward.”
Harps recently opened a 10Box Cost-Plus store in Van Buren, and in December announced plans to open new stores in Conway and Fort Smith.
Harps is 100% employee-owned and operates 148 stores in six states including, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Oklahoma. Harp’s employs move than 6,500 across the business.
