An celebration for food trucks in Topeka is near.
“Summer Night Food Truck Festival” will be held 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on May 17 at the downtown Evergy Plaza. The Nighttime Food Truck Festival will light up the evening with 19 local food trucks, live music and interactive activities for families to enjoy.
Dylan Tyler, manager of Evergy Plaza said downtown Topeka used to have other food truck festivals, so bringing it back was something that needed to be done.
“Also, we’re truly invested in our food truck community and the support that they give us with all of our events,” said Tyler.
What food trucks will be at the festival?
“All of these people come out to all kinds of events in Topeka and they all get out there because they’re all very good at what they do. They all have very different and unique menus which is great for someone who wants to grab a bite,” said Tyler.
The 19 local food trucks that will be present at the nighttime food truck festival include:

Foam, splash pads, face paint and more at festival
In addition to an abundance of food choices, a performance by Stranded in the City will take place while DJ Soncilight performs for the night.
Those who attend will also have the chance to enjoy Evergy Plaza’s splash pad, Aunt Nancy’s Face Art, Henna Art by Veidhi Heiland and Permanent Jewelry by Finley Linked.
A giant foam machine, provided by Foam Partyganza, will also be on site for kids and families.
Donations welcome
“This year’s event proudly supports the Boys & Girls Club of Topeka and their Stuff the Bus initiative, helping local youth get the school supplies they need for a successful year,” said a Evergy Plaza press release.
Attendees are encouraged to bring donations or learn more about how to support this important cause during the event.
“Evergy Plaza is a highly inviting area for people from all backgrounds in Topeka. Our community loves and appreciates the events we organize, and they keep coming back,” said Josh Sturm, director of Evergy Plaza.
