The Ultimate Guide to Camps for Kids

A quick note on what we’re calling “multiple choice” camps: Many of the private schools around town offer a huge menu of ever-changing camp options that consist of sessions designed by the school’s teachers or sessions with third-party organizations such as Black Rocket tech programs. At these camps, you can fill up your kids summer with a mix of different themes, like, say, Swiftie camp in the morning and a sports camp in the afternoon. Since these are all established, well-run schools, and in the interest of making summer less insane, we recommend booking at the campus closest to you. Of course, if you are thinking of applying to Hockaday (or Greenhill, or St. John’s, etc.), registering for a summer program is a great way for your kid to get a feel for the school.
