Enterprise High School hosts annual car show to support students

Enterprise High School recently hosted its annual Show and Shine event in conjunction with Kool April Nites, transforming the school’s parking lot into a vibrant display of over a hundred cars. Organized by the Associated Student Body (ASB) students, the event aims to raise funds for the school.

The Show and Shine is free for both car exhibitors and spectators, but attendees can contribute by purchasing from food trucks, participating in raffles, and shopping at the student store.

“One hundred percent of the proceeds go right back to the students and actually the money helps continue to do events like this,” said Tonya Waterman, a staff member at Enterprise High School. “Any cost that’s going to come out of our pocket comes from the proceeds from fundraising like this. Also, it helps with scholarship writing. Remember the five scholarships to kids. All of our clubs usually put all the money back into school events.”

Waterman explained that preparations for the event begin early in the year, with letters sent to community members, parents, and businesses seeking sponsors and donations. She emphasized the school’s family-like atmosphere and the importance of keeping students engaged and on campus. “The more they plan the events, the more invested they become,” she said.
