New York and other US centres tumble in green finance rankings amid policy shift

Investor confidence in the future of green finance is slipping, damaged by the Trump administration’s rollback of sustainability policies, according to the latest Global Green Finance Index.

The 15th annual index, which rates international financial centres based on the perceived quality and depth of green financing in each location, saw a continued fall in investor confidence regarding future prospects for green finance, with the average rating down by almost 6 per cent, compared with a fall of about 2 per cent in 2024’s index.
