The FDA is working with the food industry to eliminate petroleum-based artificial dyes from the U.S. food supply by late 2026. In their place, four new natural dyes will be authorized. FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary says the move is part of a broader effort to create a healthier food environment for kids.
