On Xbox Series X, Oblivion Remastered runs on a native output of 1080p to 1274p, can be upscaled to 4K, and generally maintains a solid 60 FPS performance. On Xbox Series S, however, the game apparently runs at a native resolution between 420p and 630p, upscaled to 1260p. It also consistently sticks to 30 FPS, but unlike the Series X version, it doesn’t even offer a 60 FPS option.
You can easily find reports on Reddit saying Oblivion Remastered runs poorly on Xbox Series S, complaining about micro stutters and frame drops down to 15 FPS, making the game hard to play. While the Series S is a budget console not designed for high-end performance, frequently suffering from noticeable gaps and criticism from game developers, it still feels very unfair to players. After all, this is a remaster of a game that’s nearly 20 years old.
