Marion YMCA hosts 33rd annual Healthy Kids Day with family activities and fun run

Marion, Iowa — Amber Bisinger, Communications Manager for the City of Marion, and Bob Carlson, President and CEO of the YMCA of the Cedar Rapids Metro Area, joined Iowa’s News Now to discuss the YMCA Healthy Kids Day and Marion City Showcase.

The event will be on Saturday, April 26, at the Marion YMCA & Community Rec Center on 3740 Irish Drive from 9 a.m. to noon, with dozens of activities for the family to enjoy.

Before the event, at 8:45 a.m., a family fun walk/run will be held to take participants on a one-mile route from the YMCA to Lowe Park and back.

This is the 33rd anniversary of Healthy Kids Day, the Y’s national initiative to improve health and well-being for kids and families.

It teaches healthy habits, encourages active play, and inspires a lifetime love of physical activity.
