Gearheads unite as Kool April Nites officially kicks off

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. — Kool April Nites has officially kicked off its ten-day celebration in the Northstate.

The highly anticipated event began at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 18, in the Player’s Pizza parking lot in Anderson and will run through April 27.

Kool April Nites first began in 1990 and has since then become the largest classic car show in Northern California. It is a celebration of classic cars, bringing together car enthusiasts and mechanics from all over the country. The event features car parades, concerts, food, and more. Some of the main things happening this week include:

Spring Fest Car and Bike Show and Shine | Downtown Redding

For many, the event is more than just a car show. It’s a chance to connect with others who share the same passion. A proud member of the Cruisers Car Club, Hank White, is one of them.

“The community here is wonderful because you’re meeting people that have skills, they have physical skills they know how to work on a car, they know how to weld, they know how to do machine work so you get to talk to the other people that we call gearheads, so half the guys out here are gearheads, they built their car,” White said.
