Ben Affleck Says J.Lo Has a “Great Ongoing Relationship” With His Kids

In the wake of their recent divorce, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck won’t be splitting apart their families any time soon.

During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Affleck stated that J.Lo maintains a close relationship with his children—Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13—who he shares with his other ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.

“Jennifer Lopez is spectacular,” Affleck said. “Great to my kids; [she has a] great ongoing relationship with them… She’s enormously important. A tremendous person of a lot of integrity, who I adore and I’m grateful to.”

Affleck spoke with the outlet while at the premiere of his new action film, The Accountant 2, where he stated that both his kids, as well as Lopez’s 17-year-old twins, Emme and Max, were in attendance. He went on to praise Lopez’s children too, saying, “I love her kids—they’re wonderful.”

J.Lo and Affleck have been connected since 2001, when they worked on the film Gigli together and quickly entered a highly-publicized romance and eventual engagement, which was called off in 2004.

Two decades later, the pair rekindled their relationship and tied the knot in the summer of 2022, with an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas followed by a larger celebration in Georgia. However, due to growing differences, Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024 and the split was finalized in January of this year.

Still, despite their many ups and downs, Lopez and Affleck remain close. And, though the rumors about them continue to swirl, the Accountant actor confirmed that he tries to avoid the tabloids when it comes to his personal life. “I don’t read the stuff online much,” he said. “I’m thrilled that the kids are here with me and, you know… the relationships that you [can] have with children like that—it’s the joy of my life and those kids are amazing.”
