Two kids suffer stab wounds after suspected knife fight on north side of Syracuse

An 11 and 12-year-old are recovering from stab wounds after a suspected knife fight on the north side of Syracuse on Thursday, April 17.

Around 5:20 p.m., Syracuse Police Officers responded to the 600 block of Park Street in regards to a report of a stabbing, according to a department release. When they arrived, they found a 12-year-old male suffering from apparent stab wounds to the abdomen and back. The kid was transported to Upstate University Hospital, and is listed in stable condition.

A short time later, Officers were informed of an 11-year-old who was also suffering from an apparent puncture wound to his forearm in the 100 block of Jasper Street, according to the release. Their injuries are considered non life-threatening, and he was treated on scene.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the incident was the result of a fight between both of the juveniles.
