From April 21 to 25, 2025, the Door County YMCA will participate in Five Days of Action, a national initiative designed to raise awareness and empower adults to take action in preventing child sexual abuse.
Throughout the week, the YMCA will share resources, safety tips and ways families and community members can get involved. With summer on the horizon and children preparing to take part in camps, programs and outdoor activities, this campaign reminds the public that everyone plays a role in creating safer spaces for kids.
In addition to offering education, YMCA staff annually complete three hours of child abuse prevention training. This year, for the first time, the YMCA’s board of directors will also participate by completing a volunteer module.
