Nintendo’s been on a hot streak with Directs, with two livestreamed presentations taking place in subsequent weeks late last month and early this month. If that wasn’t enough, it’s almost time for a third Direct, this time focused on the Nintendo Switch 2’s premier launch game: Mario Kart World.
Nintendo announced the Mario Kart World Direct during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct earlier this month after officially unveiling the game, and it’s said to include new information about the game. What, exactly, that information contains is anyone’s guess at this point, but Nintendo’s always got a few tricks up its sleeve.

We’ve collected all the currently available information about the upcoming presentation, including the Mario Kart World Direct stream times and how to watch the Mario Kart World Direct.
Mario Kart World Direct Stream Times
The Mario Kart World Direct will take place on April 17, 2025 at 9am EDT, which is fairly early for a Nintendo Direct. Here’s what that translates to for other time zones:
- PDT – 6:00am
- CDT – 8:00am
- EDT – 9:00am
- BRT – 10:00am
- BST – 2:00pm
- CEST – 3:00pm
- CST – 9:00pm
- JST/KST – 10:00pm
- AEST – 11:00pm
- NZST – 1:00am (April 18)
Nintendo says that the Mario Kart World Direct will last for approximately 15 minutes and will contain new information about the Nintendo Switch 2 game. We can probably expect to see details about new characters, karts, and potentially new tracks — some regional websites accidentally posted a hint at a new Rainbow Road track, which has not yet been officially revealed. We’ll have to wait and see.
Mario Kart World Direct – How to Watch
As per usual, Nintendo will host its Mario Kart World Direct on its YouTube channel, which we’ve embedded below, as well as on the official Nintendo Twitch account.
In a world first, Nintendo is also hosting the Direct on Nintendo Today, the company’s recently-launched news app. Nintendo Today was first announced and released during the March 2025 Nintendo Direct as a way to have daily news delivered directly to fans. It’s already had some pretty major announcements too, as the day following its release Nintendo announced the release date of its live-action The Legend of Zelda movie.
