No injuries reported in bus crash, says Peoria Police

PEORIA (25News Now) – No children were injured after a crash involving their school bus Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were called at 4 p.m. for the three-vehicle crash that happened in front of Sterling Middle School.

Police said one vehicle pulled out of a parking lot and collided with another that then crashed into the school bus.

The crash pushed the bus off the road and onto the grass of Newman Golf Course across the street.

Seven kids were onboard the bus and were not injured.

The three drivers involved were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries. One driver had to be extricated, according to the Peoria Fire Department.

The fire department said 11 patients were involved. Seven refused transport and four were taken to local hospitals. No life-threatening injuries were reported.

All three vehicles have been towed away.

The crash is being investigated.

All lanes of Sterling are now open.
