During Full Sail University’s recent Hall of Fame Week, the community came together to celebrate their collective love of esports, video games, and tabletop games. Throughout the week, attendees enjoyed ample opportunities to nerd out and connect with peers at events including Hall of Game: Homecoming 2025, a 24-hour game jam, a live D20 Deathmatch, and the unveiling of the new Armada HQ. Students also got the chance to dive deep into the game industry at various panels and presentations led by Full Sail graduates and industry experts.
Hall of Game: Homecoming

Current Armada varsity team members compete against a team of Armada alumni in Hall of Game: Homecoming.
The highly anticipated week started with Hall of Game: Homecoming 2025, where a team of alumni from Full Sail Armada battled against the current Armada varsity team in an exciting esports competition inside the Full Sail University Orlando Health Fortress. Competitors played Apex Legends, League of Legends, and Halo: Infinite. Viewers cheered as they watched the thrilling matches in person and over the Hall of Game: Homecoming livestream. Team Varsity ultimately walked away as the champions. Attendees also enjoyed freeplay Super Smash Bros., arcade machine games, food trucks, and raffles.

Scholarships

Three students and Armada varsity team members were awarded scholarships from Orlando Health.
At Hall of Game: Homecoming, Orlando Health recognized three Full Sail students and Armada varsity team members for their contributions to the community, commitment to their academic success, and competitive spirit — awarding them $5,000 each to use toward their educational goals. Orlando Health also contributed an additional $15,000 in scholarship funds that were awarded later in the week. Additionally, at the student block party that concluded Hall of Fame 15, EA Sports awarded six more outstanding Full Sail students with $5,000 each in scholarship funds.
Game Jam

Teams of students compete in a 24-hour game jam.
From noon on March 9 to noon on March 10, more than 300 students in game-focused degree programs took part in a 24-hour game jam. Teams of two to five students were tasked with developing one full level of game in that limited time, putting their skills to the test in a race against the clock. Teams worked together and presented their finished levels to a panel of judges that included past and present Hall of Fame inductees; winners received prizes from sponsors including MSI.
D20 Deathmatch

Hosts take the stage at the D20 Deathmatch.
On March 11, D20 Deathmatch – a live Dungeons and Dragons actual play – was held at the outdoor stage, hosted by Bec Godsey (Course Director in the Game Business & Esports program) and Drew Godsey, along with special guests. Students enjoyed the immersive TTRPG experience which pitted two challengers against each other in a brutal and hilarious arena spectacle, complete with costumes, heavy metal, and a giant 20-sided die that players would roll out into the audience.
Armada HQ Unveiling

The community gathers to celebrate the exciting debut of Armada HQ.
Another exciting aspect of this year’s Hall of Fame Week was the unveiling of Armada HQ — Full Sail’s new on-campus gaming and esports center. While the Fortress remains the university’s dedicated esports arena, Armada HQ will serve as a collaborative space for all students across all programs to utilize and enjoy. It includes casting facilities, production studio space, a gameplay lounge, and more.
During Armada HQ’s debut event, students and alumni were invited to stop by to get a tour, score some free swag, play games, meet current Armada team members, and hear from Full Sail’s esports leadership about the many exciting features of this new on-campus community space.
