Last week at Darlington, Denny Hamlin won the Goodyear 400. The top of the finishing order was a who’s who of 2025 championship contenders, as William Byron finished second, followed by Christopher Bell, Tyler Reddick, and Ryan Blaney.
Byron currently leads the regular season point standings with 315 points, while Hamlin is second with 266 points. His win last week moved him up four spots in the overall standings.
Last year, Hamlin won this race, leading 163 laps. It was a strange event as a new tire combination led to differing strategies that ultimately resulted in just five drivers finishing on the lead lap. In addition to Hamlin, the other lead lap finishers, in order of their finish, were Martin Truex Jr., Brad Keselowski, Alex Bowman, and Kyle Larson.
