Good Ol’ Boys Car Show rolls into Oakdale for a great cause

OAKDALE, La. (KALB) – For the 15th year in a row, the Good Ol’ Boys Car Show brought crowds and cars to Oakdale on Saturday, April 12, offering a day of fun, food and philanthropy.

The event took place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Richard Tire Service, owned by Kenneth Richard. Around 75 vehicles were on display, ranging from classic cruisers to modern rides, alongside local food and craft vendors and live music keeping the good vibes going all day long.

Organized by Kenneth Richard and O’Reilly Auto Parts, the car show has become a staple in Oakdale. Admission is free, but donations are strongly encouraged. All proceeds go to two causes: the Louisiana Lions Camp and the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation.

For Kenneth Richard, the mission is deeply personal.

“Me and my family have so much eye problems. So many, it’s an inherited disease. I’ve been blind four times where I couldn’t see daylight. My daughter’s been blind. I have a blind grandson. The main thing I want to do is help somebody enjoy life,” he shared.

The Good Ol’ Boys Car Show is held every year on the second Saturday of April. So if you missed it this year, be sure to mark your calendar for next spring.
