SAN ANTONIO – Children from Haven for Hope enjoyed a day of fishing, food, and fun at the 26th annual Kids Fish Day hosted by CPS Energy at Calaveras Lake Pier.
The event, held from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., brought together volunteers, community partners, and young fishers for a unique outdoor experience.
A small cove near the Calaveras Lake Pier was netted and stocked with 500 catfish, courtesy of Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPW). The fish, each about 12 inches long, were part of a special “catch and release” program made possible through a partnership with TPW.
After the event, the catfish are released back into Calaveras Lake.
