Kids can bowl for free at Rockford-area bowling centers this summer

ROCKFORD (WREX) — If you’re looking for something fun and active to do with your kids over the summer, local bowling alleys are offering quite the cost-effective option.

Five Rockford-area bowling centers are offering two free games every day this summer for kids aged 15 and younger. The deal runs from April 30 to August 31.

Participating local centers are The Cherry Bowl and Don Carter Lanes in Rockford, Park Lanes and Forest Hills Lanes in Loves Park, and Viking Lanes in South Beloit.

The local centers are taking part in a nationwide program that involves more than 1,200 centers across the country to bring free bowling to kids throughout the summer months.

Kids Bowl Free is a program that aims to give back to local communities while keeping kids active and out of trouble during summer vacation. More than 30 million kids have taken part in the program in recent years.

Families that register for the program will receive coupons for Two Free Bowling Games for each child in the household via email every Sunday morning.

More information and a link to register can be found at KidsBowlFree.com.
