When celebrity hairstylist Fabio Sementilli was found stabbed to death on the patio of his South California home on January 23, 2017, it left his entire family and community shattered to the core. However, arguably the most haunted by this ordeal were his kids, especially his youngest since she was the one who found him, as per NBC’s ‘Dateline: The Widow of Woodland Hills’ and ’20/20: Sex, Knives, and Videotape.’ After all, it was all at the hands of his wife of nearly two decades, Monica Sementilli, as well as her boyfriend of 1½ years, Robert Baker, just so they could get his life insurance payout before finally, openly being together.
Luigi Sementilli is Keeping the Memories of His Father Alive in His Heart
Although Luigi Sementilli is Fabio’s son from a previous relationship, he admittedly had a great connection with not only his stepmom but also his half-sisters prior to the tragic incident. The then-Brock University Master of Philosophy student knew that not everything was sunshine and roses in his father’s familial life, considering he had seen Monica’s behavior first-hand, but they all still shared a bond. Therefore, when he got the unfortunate call on that fateful day, he immediately got on a flight from Ontario, Canada, to Los Angeles, California, to grieve alongside his loved ones, unaware he’d face something else entirely.
According to Luigi’s testimony during Monica’s 2025 murder trial, she was rather obsessed with leading a comfortable life and had even asked him about Fabio’s life insurance payout within days. This understandably made him very suspicious, which only grew tenfold when she was actually arrested on the charges of conspiracy to commit murder and first-degree murder in July 2017. What’s even worse for him is that because both his half-sisters – Monica and Fabio’s biological daughters – initially stood by their mother, their relationship gradually fizzled out too.
However, now that justice has been served in every way, Luigi appears to be doing his best to move forward while keeping the legacy and memories of his late father alive in his heart and in his life. He even takes comfort from the Rolex watch Fabio used to wear all the time – “He wore it when he died,” the victim’s eldest told ’20/20.’ “I wear it for special occasions when I wanna feel close to him. It’s probably my most — one of my most cherished— possessions.”
As for his professional standing, after serving as a Client Onboarding Specialist, Campaign Manager, and Senior Campaign Specialist in various organizations, Luigi is now the proud Director of Marketing at Huron Dental Group. This St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada resident joined this organization as a Marketing Coordinator in November 2023, just to be swiftly promoted to his current executive position in March 2024.
Gessica Sementilli Prefers to Remain Away From the Limelight
As the eldest daughter of Monica and Fabio, Gessica Sementilli has been through a lot since the fateful day because she has lost both her mother as well as her father in the worst of ways. She was actually merely 18 in early 2017 and away from home on a babysitting job when she got the call, yet what shook her world even more in the months to pass was the suspicion falling on her mother.
Gessica reportedly had her suspicions that Monica wasn’t happy in her marriage with her father, considering she had found her in bed with Robert Baker just months prior, but she allegedly always believed she was innocent of murder. The now 26-year-old even testified to this during her mother’s trial in early 2025, yet to no avail – the mother of two was found guilty of one count of murder with special circumstance allegations of financial gain and lying in wait on April 11.
Thus, Gessica is seemingly heartbroken, but she knows she will still keep both of her parents’ memories alive for as long as she is on this Earth, and even beyond if she can, all the while also building her own individual identity in the corporate world. After all, today, the UCLA Bachelor of Classical and Ancient Studies graduate (2021-2023) and San Francisco State University Master’s of Archeology and Classical Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics student is trying to live her best possible life. In fact, while keeping well away from the limelight, she currently serves as the Regional Director of California, Nevada, and Hawaii at WorldStrides, a company providing educational travel and experiences to students across the globe.
Isabella Sementilli Has Followed in Her Father’s Footsteps
Isabella Sementilli was merely 16 years old when she not only found her father brutally stabbed to death at home on January 23, 2017, but also lost her mother to prison following her arrest in June. She subsequently chose to move away from the public eye, considering she was not only a minor but also traumatized from the whole experience, but it appears as if she also believed in Monica’s innocence. In fact, back in July 2023, after Robert Baker’s no-contest plea for murder, her elder sister had told reporters that she and “Isabella will continue to stand by our mother as we have for the last six years.”
Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Isabella also testified during Monica’s trial, yet after it was all said and done, she conceded that “justice was served…, though I’m not sure how anyone could be happy or celebrating.” She is understandably devastated over losing her parents in such a tragic way, but she is also determined to “bring a new meaning to the last name Sementilli,” as seen above. However, this is something the now 25-year-old has already been trying to do over the last few years.
Upon graduating from Agoura High School, Isabella actually chose to follow in her father’s footsteps and began working towards establishing a career as a hairstylist. She earned her license a day before the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in 2020, but she still soon managed to gain experience under some of Los Angeles’ top hairstylists before ultimately developing her own style. That’s how her brand Isabella Hair came to be, with her specializing in modern styles that are beautiful, chic, sophisticated, and timeless — you can book her independently or find her at Mare Salon in West Hollywood.
