Since its inception in 1951, the Prattville Spinners organization has given back well over $500,000 in community grants and awards. That tradition continued again Saturday, as the ladies hosted their sixth annual Bunny Shop Hop at Spinners Park.

Over 100 vendors filled the park, including food trucks, and a large variety of shopping opportunities. Families and shoppers poured into the park to enjoy all the event had to offer, including door prizes, plenty of options to shop, great food, and entertainment.

During the event, multiple organizations received grants to help with their individual causes.

This year, those organizations or individuals included:

Jonathan Hancock, the project manager for Heroes’ Memorial Plaza. His plan is to create a veteran’s memorial at the Autauga County Courthouse in downtown Prattville. He began this first as an Eagle Scout project but is now continuing his quest to see the memorial become reality. You can reach out to Jonathan at [email protected]

The Spinners have two major fundraisers a year, with vendor markets, entertainment, music, kids’ activities, plenty of good food and family fun. The money from vendors rental fees, and community support, are what creates funds, which are then handed over to different groups each year. Officials said they were pleased with the turnout, especially considering multiple events were held simultaneously across Autauga County Saturday.

“The vendors that rent out booths, that money goes into these funds which, in turn, goes right back into our community. We do these fundraisers to give back to the community. It is amazing the turnout we had today. We appreciate all of you.”
