
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey signed four bills into law Tuesday.
Senate Bill 283 will expand grade levels of personal finance course requirements needed for graduation. The measure will require the West Virginia Board of Education to develop coursework for secondary students.
Senate Bill 336 authorizes the Department of Homeland Security to establish legislative rules. The law includes the Governor’s Committee on Crime, Delinquency and Correction, the Division of Protective Services, the State Emergency Response Commission and West Virginia State Police.
Senate Bill 492 removes outdated provisions for political committees. The measure will allow for the termination of committees that file a written request, provided the group has no outstanding obligations or debts.
Senate Bill 621 authorizes digital court records. Clerks or designated staffers will be required to archive orders.
The 2025 regular legislative session ends at midnight on April 12.
