Million Mile Challenge is back: Help wishes take flight for kids in Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Once again, Alaska’s News Source is partnering with Make-A-Wish Alaska to turn dreams into reality for children facing critical illnesses. Imagine being a child navigating a life-threatening diagnosis. Now, imagine the power of a wish trip bringing hope, strength, and unforgettable memories to kids who need it most.

Throughout April, we’ll introduce you to four incredible wish kids and their families. They’ll share their deeply personal journeys, the challenges they’ve faced, and how their wish trips gave them moments of pure joy and a break from the struggles of their illnesses.

For many wish experiences, travel is essential. That’s where you come in! By donating your unused airline miles, you can help these kids and their families reach their dream destinations, allowing them to focus on joy, not hospitals.

We’ve hit (or even surpassed) one million donated miles before, and we know we can do it again this year!

For the month of April, you’ll get to know our wish kids and their families:

  • Liam Kurka, 6
  • Dominique Caradine, 17
  • Kayden Santiago-Iverson, 10
  • Sky Allison, 9

Each of these brave kids is fighting a tough battle, but their fearlessness, resilience, and hope shine through. If their stories inspire you to donate miles, know that you’re making a direct impact on families right here in Alaska. It’s easy to help! Click here and help us reach our one-million-mile goal.

Together, we can make wishes take flight.
