Cat food recalled after testing positive for bird flu

ALBANY, N.Y. (WCAX) – A recall alert for cat owners.

New York’s Department of Agriculture says Savage Cat raw chicken cat food could contain avian flu.

In March, the company recalled the product with the ‘best by’ date of November 15, 2026.

Samples collected by the New York Health Department tested positive for avian flu.

Some cats were reported sick, but right now there, is a low risk of human infection.
