
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Athletes of all abilities gathered at Kirkwood Community College’s Michael J. Gould Recreation Center on Saturday for the 13th Annual Eastern Iowa Adapted Sports Clinic.
Hosted by UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the event provided hands-on experience with a variety of adaptive sports, helping participants explore new ways to stay active.
The free event aimed to demonstrate that individuals with physical and visual disabilities can lead healthy and active lifestyles through sports. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in activities such as cycling, soccer, tennis, boxing, archery, yoga, and wheelchair basketball.
In addition to trying out the sports, participants could interact with adaptive sports experts and learn about specialized equipment.
The annual event continues to grow, bringing awareness and accessibility to adaptive sports for individuals in Eastern Iowa.
