SEADRIFT, Texas – The City of Seadrift is taking steps to improve safety at its local sports complex, but officials say a temporary fix won’t be enough to fully address the issue.
City leaders have been working to resolve ongoing concerns at the facility, and after further evaluation, they’ve determined that a major electrical overhaul is necessary.
To fund and implement the necessary repairs, city officials are working with the Chamber of Commerce to gather quotes and secure resources. Until the work is complete, the ball fields and park will remain closed.
“The park will remain closed until everything is properly repaired,” said Mayor Pro-Tem Tracey Johnson.
There is no set timeline for when the park will reopen, but officials are urging patience as they work toward a long-term solution.
