YMCA of Centre County will host its annual Healthy Kids Day event from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, at the State College YMCA.
Free and open to the community, the event aims to set kids up for a healthy start to summer. It will feature activities such a Wibit aquatic obstacle course, Wii bowling tournament, door prizes, healthy snacks from Playa Bowls, giveaways, a visit from Ike the Spike and more.
“It is so important for kids to stay active over the summer, both physically and mentally,” Jamie SanFilippo, director of community outreach at YMCA of Centre County, said in a news release. “At the Y, we believe in providing resources for families to create healthy habits, no matter the time of year. Healthy Kids Day is a fun, free community-wide event that encourages families to take advantage of all the great summer activities the Y has to offer.”
Healthy Kids Day is the Y’s national initiative to improve the overall health and well-being of kids and families and inspire them to keep their minds and bodies active throughout the summer months and beyond.
