‘Fortnite’ Leak Says ‘Solo Leveling’ Is Coming,’ Here’s Which Skins

Fortnite is nothing without all its future collaborations leaking out well before they’re announced, and that tradition has continued with a reveal of a crossover with the biggest anime series of the past year, one which just wrapped up its second season.

That would be Solo Leveling, which, only 25 episodes in, has become the most popular anime of all time on Crunchyroll with more user reviews in than One Piece, and above giants like Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan.

Fortnite will cross over with the series, and one of the reported skins coming to the game will be, of course, Sung Jin-woo. But the other will be Cha Hae-In. We haven’t seen all that much from Cha Hae-In just yet in the show, but if they were going to do a second character, and they wanted a woman in particular, she’s probably the first choice, so I suppose it’s no big surprise.

The report also says that Jin-woo’s shadows will appear as a part of this as well, though that could range from anything from an emote to a cosmetic to who knows, a mini map event where you fight them. These would be the shadows that Jin-woo summons with his necromancer powers, which can range from average footsoldiers to past, powerful bosses he’s defeated.

It certainly makes sense that Fortnite would collaborate with Solo Leveling, not just because of its popularity, but because the show is effectively a video game itself, with E to S-rank heroes, portal dungeons closed by boss fights and of course, the main premise is that only Jin-woo has the ability to level up and get stronger, with access to a video game UI that gives him skill points, new abilities, new weapons, healing potions and all other manner of tricks that no one else on the planet (that we know about) has access to. That has meant so far he’s barely ever had a real challenge (though granted, many of these fights have been awesome).

I would highly recommend the show, and I’m such a fan I would absolutely log in to pick up these skins for Fortnite’s growing metaverse, just like I have many of the anime crossovers before this. This does not strike me as one that’s going to get more than one round of skins because of just how relentlessly focused it is on Jin-woo rather than an ensemble, but that’s fine.

This does not have a release date, but I’d expect it some time before the end of this season.
