MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCSC) – The Charleston Area Safe Kids are partnering with State Farm to host a free car seat check to make sure children are safely traveling on the road.
The event is part of the Good Neighbor Safety Program, which is a national initiative program that improves access to Child Passenger Safety education and resources, encouraging behavioral changes and fostering a safety-conscious culture within families and communities.
Preventable injuries are the leading killer of kids in the US, with car crashes as the leading cause of death for children ages 1-12, according to Safe Kids Worldwide.
Certified child passenger safety technicians will be on-site to provide additional assistance to parents, caregivers and guardians, ensuring that car and booster seats are properly installed.
The event is being held on March 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 102 Gulledge Street, Moncks Corner.
