VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg Warren School District (VWSD) will host an Athletic Career Fair at Vicksburg High School on April 1 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., providing students with an opportunity to explore career paths beyond playing professional sports.

The event, which will take place in the school’s gymnasium, will feature a variety of industry professionals from different sectors of athletics. Attendees will learn about career opportunities in sports management, athletic training, sports psychology, marketing, broadcasting, event planning, and more.

“The goal is to show students that there are many rewarding careers in athletics, even if they don’t become professional athletes themselves,” said VWSD Athletic Director James Lewis. “This fair will open their eyes to the diverse career options available in the sports industry.”

Local businesses and organizations, as well as colleges offering sports-related programs, will have booths at the event. Students will have the chance to engage directly with these professionals and gain insight into the qualifications and skills required for various roles.
