NEW YORK — Columbia University Athletics has announced the promotion of Greg Lamb to Associate Athletics Director for Sport Programs and Special Projects. Lamb has been a member of the football program’s support staff for the past 15 years, including the last four as Assistant Athletics Director for Football Operations.
In his new role, Lamb will serve as Sport Program Administrator for several varsity athletics programs and assist the Director of Athletics and Deputy Athletics Director on department matters, ensuring alignment and documentation with strategic plan elements.
“Greg’s been an unbelievable resource for our football program for many years, and we’re very excited to have him extend his experience to our other athletics programs,” said Campbell Family Director of Athletics & Physical Education Peter Pilling. “He has been a dedicated member of our staff for many years and is well-deserving of this promotion.”
Lamb originally joined Columbia’s football staff as a video coordinator for five years before stepping into an administrative role in July 2014. Lamb handled the football program’s budget, oversaw the Columbia Football Players Club, managed the video department and office technology and served as the program’s liaison with compliance and Success Through Well-Being.
A 2009 graduate of Pomona-Pitzer College in California, Lamb served as the school’s football team manager and video coordinator during all four years of college. While at Pomona-Pitzer, Lamb oversaw football team operations, including training, player and video equipment. He edited game and practice film and collaborated with opponents for tape exchanges. At the same time, Lamb trained and supervised a staff of four students to break down game and practice film.
A native of Lake Oswego, Oregon, Lamb graduated from Pitzer with a bachelor’s degree in economics and politics. In 2012, he completed his Master’s degree in Sports Management at Columbia University.
He currently resides in New York City with his wife, Christine and son, Vito.
