LANCASTER — The Fairfield County Health Department announced the Gold Medal winners, recognizing food service operations, food trucks and retail food establishments that practice exceptional food safety measures.

Operations that finish the year with no critical violations and two or fewer non-critical violations identified during inspections will qualify for the award.

Operations can be disqualified from eligibility if they fail to meet any of the standards, including failing to pay the license fee by the March 1 deadline, implicated in a foodborne illness outbreak or subject to more than one valid customer complaint.
