Ellsworth first responders receive awards for rescuing kids who fell through ice

ELLSWORTH, Maine (WABI) – Three Ellsworth Police Officers along with a firefighter have received awards for their assistance in a rescue.

In December, first responders rescued three kids who fell through the ice on Graham Lake after running away from a group home.

Sergeant Chad Wilmot and Corporals Shawn Merchant and Ryan Angelo were presented with a merit award from the Maine Warden Service.

The three officers and Ellsworth Fire Captain Daryl Clark also received a plaque honoring their outstanding performance and dedication in the rescue.
