
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Winter championship action continued last week for Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) student-athletes.
MIAC champion Augsburg (24-3-1) is headed to the Frozen Four for the first time in program history after defeating St. Norbert (25-5-1), 4-2, in the national quarterfinals on Saturday. The Auggies scored all four goals in the second period of their first-ever NCAA Tournament game. Augsburg will take on Frozen Four host UW-River Falls on Friday, March 28, at 7:00 p.m. in River Falls, Wisconsin. The winner of that contest will play either Middlebury or Amherst for the national championship on Sunday, March 30.

The 2024-25 swimming & diving season concluded at the NCAA Division III Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina, last week. Four MIAC student-athletes earned All-America honors by finishing among the top 16 competitors in their respective events.
Carleton first-year Nina Schwab placed third in the nation in the women’s 1-meter diving competition (438.20) and fourth in the 3-meter event (481.10) to earn First Team All-America honors off both boards, while fellow Knight Hans Anderson placed 12th in both events (1-meter: 432.35; 3-meter: 461.05) on the men’s side for Second Team All-America distinction. Saint John’s junior Brayden Slavik finished 15th in the men’s 1,650 freestyle (15:46.84) to earn Second Team All-America honors, while teammate Eli Grabinski picked up First Team All-America honors with an eighth-place finish in the 1-meter diving competition (463.70) and Second Team honors with a 14th-place performance off the 3-meter board (449.45).
