LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — The community gathered to honor the memory of Cash Gaudio with a special car show Sunday, celebrating his love for cars and supporting his family. The event featured a variety of vehicles, from sports cars to vintage models, brought by friends and admirers in tribute to Gaudio.
Those close to Gaudio described him as a bright light in their lives, full of care and love.

“Things like this are just part of whatever healing I can have,” said Cash’s mom, Shannon Meyers. “To see how loved he is and how much people care. But to be able to see so many people that we know, so many people that we don’t, everybody coming out. Support for the family, and the support for someone that I’ve known practically all my life, it’s kind of beautiful,” one of his friends, Evan Fleming, said.
Despite the difficulty of the day, Gaudio’s loved ones expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support during their time of unimaginable grief. Proceeds from the event, collected through car entrance tickets, will benefit the Live Like Cash Gaudio Foundation. The foundation provides scholarship funds for student-athletes.
