Hailey Bieber’s rhode launches berry blushes shoppers call the ‘best shades yet’

Hailey Bieber is pretty much the ‘it girl’ of the 2020s. She’s set trends from ‘strawberry girl’ makeup to ‘glazed doughnut’ nails and ‘cinnamon cookie butter’ hair. And her brand, rhode, is really clever at creating internet buzz around their sought-after skincare and beauty products.

rhode’s pocket blushes were released last year and received amazing praise from shoppers and our beauty team at the Mirror. And the latest shade drop has fans calling it the “best shade yet”. There are actually two new shades, both in the same berry family, with one being warmer and one cooler. The shades are: Date Cake (a warm red berry), and Plum (a cool purple berry).

Cherry, burgundy and berry hues are a big trend this year in both fashion and beauty, so it’s no surprise to see someone as stylish as Hailey jump on this trend. Although berry tones are traditionally more of a winter shade, Hailey is really setting the trend here by launching them as a spring/summer colour.

The brand describes the pocket blush as “a little blush for a little flush,” aiming to add that super natural, glowy colour to the cheeks. The formula is creamy and lightweight, hydrating the skin without leaving a greasy finish. Our beauty team tested the blushes out for themselves last year and had high praise.

Mirror’s Head of Beauty, Zoe said: ” I have skin prone to dryness and looking dull, and these gave my complexion a youthful summer flush to fix those concerns.

I’ve now tried each of the six shades – Piggy (a soft pink), Freckle (a neutral peach), Spicy Marg (a bold coral), Sleepy Girl (a gentle mauve), Juice Box (a bright pink) and Toasted Teddy (a bronze terracotta) – and as someone with pale skin, I found the Piggy and Spicy Marg to be the two I reached for the most throughout the week. Darker complexions may be better suited to Sleepy Girl and Juice Box, which have good colour pay-off.”

You can shop the blushers individually for £24 here or as a set of six for £129 here (a £14 saving).

A couple other of our favourite cream blushes include REFY’s Cream Blush, £16, and Merit’s Flush Balm, £26
