AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Food Truck Friday took place in Richmond County at Augusta Mayor Garnett Johnson’s new campaign headquarters on Windsor Spring Road and in Columbia County at Gateway Park.
We heard from a mother and son food truck vendor about running the family business.
“It’s a special moment for me,” said Benjamin Curtis with Elena’s Gourmet Ooie Gooie Bites. “A lot of people don’t get to experience it, but it’s a great experience that it was passed down. My dad passed it to me and I can pass it to him.”

“Very great experience and I hope he passed it on to his kids and it keeps going,” said Tonya Jones with Elena’s Gourmet Ooie Gooie Bites.
Food Truck Fridays are held once or twice a month within parks around Columbia and Richmond counties.
Richmond County meets every third Friday of the month.
The Columbia County Schedule is as follows:
- April 4: Evans Towne Center Park, Evans
- June 27: Evans Towne Center Park, Evans
- September 12: Evans Towne Center Park, Evans
- October 3: Evans Towne Center Park, Evans
