OKLAHOMA CITY (KSWO) – The OKC Thunder aren’t just winning on the court, they’re helping others off the court as well.
Usually, teams are making a strong push at the end of the season to secure their seeding, but the Thunder have already secured their seeding and are the divisional champs.
But just because they are divisional champs doesn’t mean the Thunder are taking days off.
On Thursday, the Oklahoma City Thunder, G-League affiliate – OKC Blue, coaches, and staff came together to volunteer at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City.
The Regional Food Bank they participated in, is an act under their All-Hands-on Deck service project. The
Regional Food Bank is dedicated to providing food to Oklahomans experiencing food insecurity, they serve over 53 counties in Western and Central Oklahoma.
Players, coaches, and staff helped to sort, pack, and prepare food packages for clients.
The players and staff packed more than 32,000 pounds of food for a total of 27,000 meals.
