On March 6 Kiwanis Club of Marco Island held its last Terrific Kids breakfast celebration of the year where we honored five third graders from Manatee Elementary School.
Joining us in the celebration were Lt. Angel Casabona, Sgt. Mark Haueter with the Marco Island Police Department and Debby Eby from Manatee Elementary School as well as the families of each Terrific Kid.
Ayden Martinez, according to his teacher Ms. Morales, is always a leader, always participating and helping others in class during math. He is always willing to learn from his mistakes and is an amazing student. Ayden has a younger brother and sister. Outside of school he likes to play videogames and play outside with his brother. He also likes to watch TV and draw abstracts. If he could have any superpower, Ayden would like to have teleportation power so that he could get away from bad guys and travel to different countries and to the moon. If he could travel anywhere in the world, Ayden would like to go to New York City to see the Statue of Liberty and to Guatemala and Mexico so he could see where his parents grew up. When he grows up, Ayden wants to be either an artist, scientist, technology person or an adventurer.
Abel Henderson-Chrisman, according to his teacher Ms. Roberts, is an outstanding student who loves to learn and is always helpful in class and to his peers. Abel lives with his Grandma and Grandpa in a house near bears. He has hermit crabs. Outside of school, Abel likes to play games and ride his new bicycle. His superpower of choice is super speed so that he could do everything fast and even do time travel. If he could visit any place in the world, Abel would like to go to Paris and see the Eiffel Tower and visit with an old friend who lives there. He is not sure what he wants to be when he grows up, but now he likes technology and math.
Mrs. Bludworth states that her student Emily Lancon is an outstanding student and citizen at Manatee. She is kind, helpful, an does her best work. Emily lives with her mom, dad, and 4-year-old brother, Colby. Outside of school, Emily really likes to play outside and run through sprinklers. Her superpower of choice would be to fly so that she could see everybody from up in the air. She would love to visit New York City to see the Statue of Liberty and the bright lights at night. Emily thinks that she would like to be an astronaut because she really likes learning about space in science class.
Aubrey Trevino, according to her teacher, Mrs. Sanford, is always kind, caring and always considerate of others. She is an excellent student-respectful and responsible. Aubrey lives with her frailly on a farm with chickens, goats and sheep. She has a dog named Chaco and a fish named Moonlight. Outside of school, Aubrey likes to ride her bike and play with Chaco. If she could have any superpower, Aubrey would like to be super-fast so she could get her chores done quickly and have more time to do important stuff. She would love to visit Venice, Italy to ride in a gondola and eat Italian food like pasta and pizza. When she grows up, Aubrey wants to be a scientist so that she could help the environment and animals. She would like to invent things that would help people.
Jeremiah Jarvis, according to his teacher Ms. D’Agostino, is a very respectful young man, so enthusiastic about learning new things. He is very thoughtful to his classmates and is always willing to help. Jeremiah and his family travels around a lot and have gone to Texas, Miami, New York City, and they are going on a cruise soon to the Bahamas. He has two brothers, Giovanni and Oscar and two dogs named Shadow and Bear. Outside of school Jeremiah likes to go fishing for snook and to play football on a team-the Gators. His superpower of choice would have to be super speed so that he could use it to save people from bad things. He could also help his dad if he needs something. If he could go anywhere in the world, he would choose the Bahamas to see all of their beautiful beaches. When he grows up, Jeremiah wants to be a football player, specifically a linebacker for the Buccaneers.
